Here’s a quick way to rename a series of files in Windows Explorer (Windows 7 confirmed, but should work in Windows Vista and Windows 8). After renaming one file, instead of hitting Enter, simply hit the Tab key to start renaming the next file, and so on. It also works in reverse. Hit Shift + Tab to rename the previous file.
BONUS TIP!
If you didn’t already know, you can rename a highlighted file/folder by hitting F2.
