Hi all -
I just wanted to provide an update to this article for people trying to do this on Windows Server 2012 and having trouble. It turns that in Windows Server 2012 you now must do this via an administrator-level Windows Power Shell. If you do it at a Command Prompt as mentioned above, which worked in earlier versions of WIndows, the commands will appear to work, but when you do a "w32tm /query /status" you'll find that it's not referencing the server(s) you told it to. Additionally, the "0x1" no longer is needed, so leave that out on a 2012 Server too.

(I'm the original author of this post (Steve). Sorry for the delayed update to this - I forgot it was out of date until doing other posts over at my main tech blog (www.rainingforks.com), when I noticed this omission!)

I would like to recommend the NTS soft from the box that contains server and client apps for Windows, but as server hosts ntp/sntp protocol we configured all ubunus, routers and our video recording cameras to sync with it. On Windows workstations we just used their offered client tool. Happy with it in last half of year, see this http://nts.softros.com
